Killer Whales Practice Starts Tuesday! Important First‑Week Info
Hello Killer Whale Families!
Our 2026 season kicks off on TUESDAY for all groups, and we’re excited to welcome our largest group of registered swimmers ever! We appreciate your patience and enthusiasm as we get started.
🐋 Coaching Staff
We have eight wonderful coaches joining us this summer. Some will be with us early in the season, while others will join once their universities wrap up. Please allow the first week or two for everyone - coaches and swimmers alike - to settle into routines.
⚠️ Reminder: Parents are not permitted on deck (inside the pool gate). Thank you for helping us maintain a safe practice environment.
🗣️ Message from Head Coach Chase
Hello Parents,
Our first day of practice is less than a week away, and we couldn’t be more excited! The first week will focus on safety, routines, team bonding, and lane/practice etiquette to make sure swimmers feel comfortable and confident.
⏰ Practice Times
- Junior Whales: 4:30–5:00
- White Group: 5:00–5:30
- Silver Group: 5:30–6:15
- Blue Group: 6:15–7:00
- Black Group: 7:00–8:00
Practice group descriptions can be found on our team website. Please start your swimmer in the group you feel best matches their ability. We will make adjustments as needed during the first few weeks and throughout the season.
🏊 Practice Essentials (From the Coaching Staff)
Please bring the following to every practice:

- Swim Cap: Optional, but recommended; team caps available for purchase
- Water Bottle: Hydration is important!
- Towel: It gets chilly when swimmers get out

🌦️ Weather Updates
Practices run Tuesday–Friday, weather permitting. If practice is canceled, updates will be sent via:
- SwimTopia alerts (app push notification or email if the app is not installed)
- Team Facebook group
Please ensure your SwimTopia notifications are enabled.
💳 Payment Reminder (In‑Person Registrations)
If you selected in‑person payment when registering, please plan to bring your payment to the pool this next week. You have two payment options:
Option 1: Pay by Check
Please bring two checks and give them to Treasurer Ian Windsor or a board member:
- ✅ Registration payment check
(This should cover the cost of your registration and any additional merchandise you purchased.) - ✅ $200 volunteer deposit check
(This check will not be cashed and will be returned or shredded at the end of the season once volunteer requirements are fulfilled.)
Option 2: Pay Registration by Card + Volunteer Check
Ian will also have an option available to pay the registration portion by card poolside.
- ✅ Registration and merchandise costs charged via card
- ✅ $200 volunteer deposit check still required
🚗 Parking
For parking, please use the grass lot northeast of the pool accessible via Conners Ace or park within the surrounding neighborhood.
Please leave the limited spots directly in front of the pool available for coaches. Families may briefly pull in to drop off swimmers, but we ask that you park elsewhere afterward, as parking in front of the pool is very limited.
🤝 Join a Committee
We’re looking for parent volunteers to help with:
- Sponsorship outreach
- Fun Fridays / team spirit
- Merchandise and apparel
Helping on these committees do count towards the volunteer requirement. Interested? Let a board member know!
We are also always seeking certified officials. For more information, contact Team Rep Christa Ellis at [email protected]
Thanks to all our Killer Whale families! We’re excited to have a great season!
