Chase Alderman

Chase Alderman is the head coach for the Wimbledon Killer Whales. He has been swimming for 17 years through both summer leagues and club swimming. Chase currently competes at the collegiate level for the University of Texas Permian Basin. His favorite events are breaststroke, IM, and butterfly. This is now his third year coaching, and he continues to enjoy incorporating his knowledge of the sport to help develop young swimmers. Chase's passion for swimming and his understanding of technique make him a valuable asset to the Killer Whales.
Assistant Coaches
Abby Laga
Abby is excited to support the team as an assistant coach this season. With several years of experience working with children in youth programs and group activities, Abby enjoys creating a positive environment where kids can learn, grow, and have fun. While new to the world of competitive swimming, Abby is passionate about helping young athletes build confidence, teamwork, and a love for the sport. Abby looks forward to supporting the swimmers and contributing to a great season.
Ava McCormack
Ava is a new assistant coach to the Killer Whales and is super excited to coach! She has been swimming for 8 years total. Ava swam for Premier Aquatics Club of Klein and recently graduated from Klein High School as a 4 year varsity swimmer. She is currently swimming at the University of Texas Permian Basin, where she plans on earning her BSN. Her favorite strokes include backstroke, butterfly, and freestyle. Ava is excited to share her passion of swimming with the younger generation of swimmers while offering them unconditional support and encouragement to build their confidence not only in the pool, but out of the pool as well! She is eager to be part of the team this season and is excited to watch the swimmers not only thrive, but most importantly have fun while doing it!
Daya Hosey
Ellie Ortega
Ellie Ortega is a returning coach for the Wimbledon Killer Whales. She swam for five years with the Kleinwood Dolphins and developed a strong love for the sport and for helping younger swimmers grow. She graduated from Klein High School and is currently a student at BYU-Idaho. This is her second year coaching, and she is excited to continue working with swimmers and helping them build confidence in the water while improving their skills.
Ellie enjoys creating a positive and supportive environment where swimmers feel encouraged to work hard and challenge themselves. She is excited to work with the team this season and looks forward to seeing the swimmers grow, improve, and have a great time in the water.
Ethan Blackwelder
With 8 years of competitive summer swim experience and 2 years coaching youth sports, Ethan brings both a love of the water and a passion for working with young athletes. He knows firsthand what it takes to develop as a swimmer, and is excited to bring that experience to the team — helping every kid build confidence, improve their technique, and most importantly, have fun this summer.

Norah Blackwelder
Norah has been swimming in summer leagues since she was 5. Her favorite stroke is backstroke. She loves working with younger children helping them learn from their failures and find success. She has spent over 100 hours this year, mentoring younger learners at her school. She is so excited to help on the Killer Whales this year
