Calling all Returning or Prospective Officials!

Prospective New Officials: NWAL has just released the schedule of spring certification classes! We would LOVE to have more officials on our team this year--it makes our meets run more quickly and smoothly, and it's a great way to get your volunteer hours in!

If you are interested in becoming an official for the Killer Whales:

1. Go to NWALCertified.com and create an account/login
2. Click on the tab that says "Class Signup" and look for the "SNT" classes. This stands for Stroke and Turn and is the beginner level of certification.
3. Signup for a class that fits your schedule--you will need both a "lecture" and an "on deck" class to be totally certified.
4. Go to the classes, take the test and get certified, and then let me know, so I can tell you how awesome you are!

Returning Officials:

All Starters and Referees need to recertify in 2026. This means you need to:

1. Login to NWALCertified.com
2. Click on the "Take Official Test" tab.
3. You need at least an 85% to pass, so make sure you're brushed up on any recent changes to the handbook before you start the test.

All officials need to have a current background check, which can be done through NWALcertified.com and it costs $18. The Killer Whales will reimburse that expense for any officials, so please let me know when it's done and I'll make sure you get reimbursed.
